MARY MOLONEY - DIRECTOR
ACCREDITED SPECIALIST IN PERSONAL INJURY LAW

“I get a real buzz from helping people in need; helping the small guy against the big corporation (ie the insurer). I also really enjoy helping Irish families”.
Mary is a warm and approachable solicitor who has a wealth of experience in Compensation law. She specialises in conducting Motor Vehicle Accident, Medical Negligence and Liability matters, and also handles Workers Compensation claims.
Prior to joining Stacks/Goudkamp, Mary worked as a Registered Nurse while undertaking her law degree. She met her future husband while on a backpacking holiday in Australia, and has remained here ever since.
A NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law, Mary is a member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance and the Motor Accident Authority project group, which is currently reviewing the law as it applies to people who have suffered injury in a Motor Vehicle Accident in NSW. She has been a practicing lawyer for 11 years and is an experienced member of the Stacks team.
Personal Injury Litigation Experience
Practicing exclusively in the area of Compensation, Mary has an excellent knowledge of thelaw and the decisions of the courts, and a good pool of experts to call upon toprovide evidence when required. Her nursing background has given her the ability to relate to many different types of people, and to respond with empathyand understanding. Mary’s grasp of medical terminology is of real benefit to her clients, and her sense of humour helps to alleviate much of their worry and stress during the legal process.
Mary has acted for many Irish clients, and regularly provides assistance to the Irish Welfare Society. She also has clients in Singapore, Taiwan and Austria. Mary is currently running a case for an Irish backpacker who suffered catastrophic injuries when he was beaten up whilst returning home from a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs, a case which received a lot of media attention. She also conducted a nervous shock claim for a mother whose child accidently opened the exit door whilst on a night train to Melbourne, fell out and died. This case helped to bring about changes to transport safety.
Client Testimonial
“ I always thought that lawyers just were in it for the money, and there was little emotion for their clients. (...) My opinion has certainly differed about your motives, since seeing how you and Tom reacted to my feelings and emotions, and it dawned on me, that this is also why Stacks/Goudkamp are such damn good lawyers, and are on the top of the list of 10 of the best lawyers in NSW".
Outside of Work
The mother of 3 children and the loving owner of 2 dogs, Mary loves skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling and horse riding. On a Monday night you will find her Irish dancing, and she loves visiting her family back in Ireland when she gets the chance.
Mary is a caring lawyer who loves working in an area that helps to bring about necessary changes, such as to the NSW Health or Transport systems.
