The Managing Director of Stacks/Goudkamp, Tom has vast experience in Compensation law, specialising in major claims arising from Motor Vehicle Incidents. A New South Wales Law Society Accredited Specialist in Compensation, he is the Chairperson of the NSW Law Society’s personal incident Advisory Committee, an assessor for CARS (Claims Assessment Resolution Service), and was a member of the NSW Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation Board for 14 years. Tom was the President of the Australian Lawyers Alliance in 2004/2005 and is a current member. In addition to this, he has memberships to the American Trial Lawyer’s Association (ATLA), and the Motor incident Authority’s panel of legal practitioners. Tom is also co-author of the highly regarded Goudkamp/Morrison Compensation Law Manuel NSW.

After beginning his law career as a Paralegal in London, Tom worked at a number of Sydney law firms before joining Stacks in 1993 to head the Sydney office, becoming Managing Director of Stacks/Goudkamp in 2003. He was awarded an Order of Australia medal (OAM) in 2005 for services to injured people and the legal profession. With 36 years in practice, Tom is a knowledgeable and respected member of the Stacks team.

Tom is actively involved in the community, sponsoring a female wheelchair basketball team, The Goudkamp Gladiators, which has a number of players in the Australian team, and regularly donating to Wheelchair Sports NSW. Stacks/Goudkamp also donates equipment to the Prince of Wales Hospital. The father of three adult children, Tom is a member of the Royal Sydney Golf Club and plays golf every week (current handicap of 21), in addition to playing competition tennis at Rawson Park in Mosman. Married to a successful Interior Decorator/Colourist, Tom shares his wife’s love of the arts, particularly painting.
