Stacks/Goudkamp
Martin Place, Sydney
Sue’s experience in Compensation law is vast. She has worked for many respected
law firms, including Fisher and Macansh, Taylor Kearney Reed & Owen, and Mark Stenberg
and Associates, before joining the team at Stacks/Goudkamp. Sue handles Motor Vehicle
accident, Workers Compensation and Public Liability matters.
Her key skills include attention to detail and an empathetic approach to injured
clients. Sue has acted for many clients with major injuries following motor cycle
accidents, and has the experience and knowledge to interact with medical practitioners,
in order to best understand her clients’ needs and ensure these are being met. Sue
once acted for a Claimant who almost lost her leg in a motor cycle accident. She
owned an apartment on the third floor of a unit building without lifts. As part
of a successful compensation claim the Claimant was allowed a lump sum to pay for
the costs of relocation to a ground floor villa including the cost of stamp duty,
and an additional amount towards the purchase price of the villa.
Sue has often worked with non-English speaking clients, particularly Finnish people,
with the aid of an interpreter.
Sue is and has been active in her local community for a number of years. A Member
of The Rotary Club of Wahroonga, she received the highest Rotary accolade, being
made an honorary Paul Harris Fellow for her contribution to District 9680 Youth
Projects. She has often hosted international students and young people in her home,
most recently from Finland and Russia. With a strong interest in history and genealogy,
Sue is a member of the National Trust, the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society, the Royal
Australian Historical Society, and The Society of Australian Genealogists. The mother
of three adult children, Sue is a theatre buff who has subscribed for many years
to the Sydney Theatre Company and the Pymble Players, and also loves the Opera.
In her free time you will likely find her in the garden with her sleeves rolled
up.
