Julie conducts Compensation law matters for individuals, specialising in Medical
Negligence claims. Prior to commencing with Stacks in 1993, she worked in a Canberra
law firm, followed by Morris Blackburn Lawyers in Sydney. A knowledgeable and respected
solicitor, Julie is a member of the NSW Law Society and the Australian Lawyers Alliance.
She is a NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Personal lnjury and has been practicing
law for 32 years.
Julie’s warmth, sense of humour and empathetic approach to victims of Medical Negligence,
is greatly valued by her clients. She has conducted several matters involving catastrophically
injured children, such as children with birth defects, and many cases involving
severe incident or death as a result of delayed diagnosis. One such case includes
a matter she is currently conducting for a widow whose husband had been in hospital
for 6 months suffering from tuberculous meningitus. He had a stroke and died due
to increased pressure in his brain, which was not picked up or treated despite his
hospitalisation. Julie achieved a successful outcome for her client in reported

Shorey v PT Limited, involving a woman who had surgery on her spine, then
later fell in a shopping centre whilst in a wheel chair. Julie is adept at making
complex concepts straight forward and easy to understand. She has often conducted
matters for clients of non-English speaking background, occasionally using an interpreter.
The mother of four, Julie loves spending her leisure time with family and friends,
