Director
Stacks/Goudkamp
Martin Place, Sydney
Ivan specialises in Compensation law, conducting Motor Vehicle Incident, Liability,
and Medical Negligence matters for individuals in NSW. He also handles some Commercial
Dispute matters, specifically Professional Indemnity cases for solicitors, and some
Superannuation Dispute matters. Prior to joining the Stacks/Goudkamp team in 1994,
Ivan was employed as a Junior and then as a Paralegal at G J Sharah Henville Solicitors.
He became a Director at Stacks/Goudkamp in 2004. A member of the Australian Lawyers
Alliance and an Associate Member of the NSW Law Society, Ivan’s legal career spans
18 years.
A master negotiator with an easy-going nature, Ivan devotes himself to each individual
matter. His first job, working in a fruit store from the age of 15 to 21 (as a “fruitologist”),
exposed him to many different types of people, with the result that he is able to
easily relate to his clients, and respond with empathy. Ivan has handled hundreds
of compensation matters, including a number of reported cases, such as
Ghantous v Hawkesbury City Council in the High Court,
Ryan v Pledge, and
Stubbs v NRMA, a Motor Vehicle Incident matter involving a 3 month
old baby whose parents were killed, which was one of the largest settlements ever
to be awarded in a compensation claim in NSW.
Born in Macedonia and a fluent speaker of Macedonian, Ivan has often conducted matters
for Macedonian clients now residing in Australia. He is currently acting for a resident
of Macedonia who was injured in a Motor Vehicle Incident while on holiday in NSW.
“Thanks very much for the settlement details and for your kind assistance which
was most appreciated. If I need anything further in the future I will happily call
you or refer you to any friends.” K.D, Sydney.
The father of two, Ivan spends much of his free time attending his daughters’ dance
concerts, and participating in Friday night family dances (with the curtains closed!)
He is actively involved in the local community, serving on the fundraising committee
of Wheelchair Sports NSW, and competing regularly at his local Golf Club. He will
happily recount his moment of glory when he got a hole in one at the Moore Park
Golf Club (Par 3, 132 metres, using a 9-iron)! A keen sportsman, Ivan often plays
tennis and squash, and will happily watch any type of sporting competition.
